Say Marvel, for Christmas 2010, maybe we could get a nice collected edition of all these hard-to-track-down Dominic Fortune stories from the 1970s and early 80s? Like the one from the issue of Marvel Preview that also contained the origin of the Punisher, thus assuring that I will never be able to locate or afford it? Because, you know, along with the Cody Starbuck and Gideon Faust material that was running in Heavy Metal at the same time, it’s some of Howard Chaykin’s most fascinating work—somehow every page looks like a paperback cover illustration and yet also works as a piece of narrative comics art.
If that’s too complicated you can just send a gift card though.
Given that Fortune is Jewish, isn’t his comment on the Star of Bethlehem as a beacon of hope kind of… odd?
But, more on track, would this be a good start: http://marvel.com/catalog/?id=14012 ?
IT’S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE. Say, that’s getting there! I didn’t even know there was a Dominic Fortune digital comic. Glad that the Marvel Preview #2 appearance is included, as that’s the one that’s toughest to find, though I’d prefer more of the early stuff over the relatively unChaykiny Marvel Premiere 56.
SLAY BELLS!!
