Oh, the glory and the wonder of it all, to be an Alabama fan in the 21st century.

Thank you, from the bottom of my dark, pagan heart, for making Tim Tebow cry. God might be on his side but Nick Saban is one powerful little devil.
Also let’s not forget the delight of that plucky gal from Alabama out-passing the bro from Florida during the halftime show.
SARAH BETH!!

That game touched someone not half my age inside me, when my Mallet Assembly dorm mates took me along to my first Bama game, and all the world began to open to a somewhat clueless big fish from a little pond…not yet so enlightened as one who discovers A Trout in Milk, but smart, sentimental, and armed with a comic book box full of idealism.
Tebow, Tebow…it’s the South! When did you see a losing quarterback bawling on the sidelines? Save your tears for something less sentimental, big man.
It’s a parody from the universe, a cautionary tale…
Ah, Lyron! It’s good to hear from someone from that august body, and certainly grand to hear your song of sentiment gone wrong.
I have roughly a 74,000 word essay on the Tears in the Dome, which roughly comes down on the side of that vanquished missionary, and I am for sure stealing yr phrase “save your tears for something less sentimental.” Maybe in Florida it’s not: but in Alabama it’s art, and you can choke down great tears at night after having seen Guernica for the last time, but not standing in front of it.
(well, maybe).
