Lula was born in the Delta on the day that Elvis died, and for Valentine’s I wanted to do something special for her. I took several snaps of the lake around her childhood home, stocked as it is with cypress and moss, and some trees her and her father had planted when she was little. These bricks are from a border at her old house, and she knew right off where they were.
I am still not so sure this compares with her gift of more Polaroid film for the Big Shot (hooray!!) and updated volumes of both Bear and Nick Saban’s self-improvement book, but she seemed to like it. Happy Valentine’s Day, Lula, I love you.
(Yes, we did all this Friday night, I’m late sometimes posting but you can’t blow off St. Valentine).
