This is page four of the forthcoming Sandusky Review, a horror tale set in the Delta in 1935. The caption reads “AND something evil walked the cotton rows of the Delta.” This may not be final; can’t tell yet if the cotton is fluffy enough. Poked myself with the scraping tool and got a little blood on this one down on the bottom right hand side.

Page two preview.

Update: download it here.

wow this is really looking like a monumental work. what’s the work time on these?

  2. Wow. Dateline: Lovecraft, Mississippi. I love how alien and menacing the bolls look, yet completely familiar and recognizable as what they are.

Quit teasing! I don’t want to see any more until I can see it all…

Don’t even begin to listen to d-ashes, he’s on crack. We need to see more, the fabulousness is too much to withhold!!

(I think the cotton is fluffy enough)

Yes, indeed, “something evil this way comes” and by way of the cotton fields. Is Dracula involved? That blood splotch is quite vivid.

I think the cottonlooks fluffy, dense, and even wool-like. A stunning image to compliment a suspicious caption.
