Ghost of the King Edward.

faked by Monday, August 6th, 2007

Taken late July, 2007.

So taking this photograph was basically like a Die Hard movie, if Die Hard movies were about taking photographs with Polaroid film. I was down to my last frame, having blown through all my film before getting to the roof. My camera had already jammed twice, leaving me with two blank Polaroids, and the sun was impossibly high in the sky. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO, PUNK, &tc., and I hear Roy going TAKE THE SHOT!! TAKE THE—and in my mind’s eye I’m back in college again, lining up a perfect angle and just as I’m about to mash the button another photographer runs into me, shattering my knee—and then it’s all TAKE THE SHOT and sweat drips into my eyes and

Thank God Die Hard movies are not about taking photographs.

In other news, the amazing Kate Consumption has a new blog for her Obsessive Consumption empire and a brand-new Ob.Con. zine for July 2007 in her Etsy store (volume eighteen!). I think the latest cover is my favorite yet.

In other Starkville news, my sister Pinky has very nearly finished the renovations on her frame shop. I’m extremely excited for her and proud to boot. Also, I really, really hope she gives me a discount.

I really like your pix and all, but what ever happened to those bizarre little cartoonesque drawings you do so well.
