“America is one signature away . . . .”

faked by gorjus Friday, April 27th, 2007

You might be a Democrat, or a Republican, and even some of my best friends voted Green once or twice, and whether you’re going Clinton or Romney or Dodd or Weebo, you know the situation in Iraq is broken. With the passage of the bill through the House and Senate, it’s now up to the President whether we will continue to squander American lives and resources. He can defy the will of the American people or acknowledge his own failures.

NPM: The Whiskey Speech of Judge “Soggy” Sweat.

faked by gorjus Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Maybe this ain’t poetry in the way most people think of it. But back in 1952 Judge Sweat encapsulated the wonders and confusion of Mississippi in one speech about prohibition. That is enough for me.

A Fury Family Easter Fun Quiz

faked by Professor Fury Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Hey, internets! Here’s a brain teaser for you: one of the following statements about my and Contessa’s recent trip to see my folks is FALSE. Can you guess which one?

1. I spent more time speaking with a (helpful!) Dell technical support rep than I did speaking to any member of my family.
2. We saw the Light + Glass studio, which is awesome.
3. Gorjus gave me an enormous box of comic books, most of which were great, but some of which featured Terry Long.
4. My parents’ preacher condemned CNN as an “unbelieving network” twice during the course of his Easter sermon.
5. My parents’ preacher said, “Those British soldiers surrendered so fast, youda thought they was French!”
6. My parents surprised my niece with the gift of live bunnies. One male and one female. Not neutered or spayed.
7. My brother attempted to bond with my niece (his daughter) by threatening to feed the bunnies to the dogs.
8. My brother attempted to bond with my niece (his daughter) by threatening to set the bunnies on fire. Twice.
9. My mother, when these threats were called to her attention, beamed at my brother for spending quality time with his daughter.

The correct answer is below!
