“Dear Liz, Love Jax” (The Modern Letter Project).

faked by Friday, March 2nd, 2007

Sally turned me on to the Modern Letter Project, wherein a group of relative strangers write letters to each other for a year. Coordinated by Callalillie and Youngna, one writes two letters a month: one to and one back.

My first letter is composed of mostly Jackson-based Polaroids and stories about my grandparents. The photos below are b-sides to It’s Friday Night—ACT LIKE IT!!, Very First Lie, and The King Edward (Jackson, Miss.), plus #743 of 16,819 blurry fireside shots of Prof. Fury.

That’s a “Hello My Name Is” sticker in the bottom left-hand corner; the back is covered with them as to create a writing surface.

Ooh, I want that book! And, Diplo, there is totally a sconce! When you’re walking out of the guys’ bathroom back to the main bar, look up and to the left. I swear I’d never seen it either. And, that last shot is really on E. Capitol across the street from the King Edward, by the old People’s Cafe. Woops.
