I was going through a stack of old fliers last night and found these two, which are among my favorite ever. I think it’s just the “rah-rah” lettering and the nonsensical pairing of bowling + loud indie rock.

  2. The Diplomat says:

what do you mean nonsensical? is there a greater height of indie-hipster-(try)rony than bowling?

  3. gorjus says:

HA! Good points. And gclark, get Alec Eiffel to make ‘em a myspace page! That way we can at least pretend!

  4. Sally says:

I have a secret stash of Starkville fliers I ripped off of telephone poles. The blue one is one of them!

  5. alec eiffel says:

the myspace page is coming and will take a passive approach in the way of promotion. please send any jba-related photos or fliers that you might have (gorj, sally, gclark?) to johnblackattack@gmail.com. ()

  6. Wait—do we have to bowl ironically now? And does that mean not caring or caring a whole lot more than we really do? Or just pretending to care?

You know, I think I still have a copy of the yellow one. I also have a Garrison Starr poster you made.

  8. the diplomat says:

    fury

thus the hipster conundrum: how does one care less while caring more?

  9. Scott says:

Bowling shoes are way indie cool.
