“Of or relating to mirrors and reflected images.” (The Delicate Cycle Is Coming!).

faked by gorjus Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

In the glorious, end days of catoptric, the lovely and nefarious Jaxxie Glam put together a banner logo that may never have actually seen the light of day:

I absolutely adore this, and if it seems familiar to you, it should. That’s Sally & Larry’s living room floor, and a while back I’d set up the blurr Polaroid on one of Larry’s tripods, took some photos of guitar cords and typewriters, and those became the basis of a poster for Neilson Hubbard, Eric Stracener, and Andrew Norsworthy. (The poster design being all Jaxxie—I just took the photos and stamped out some letters).

Jaxxie built the font—”Stampabet”—off of the one you see scattered all over PrettyFakes. I love the heft and distressed virtues of the letters.

I say all this because I’ve recently been lamenting the fact that I’ve not done any fliers this year, although I used to do a million a day. Then Alec Eiffel sent me an e-mail and said the glorious Delicate Cycle is playing at Don’s in a few weeks, along with We Landed on the Moon. So we’re going to make a bunch of fliers and it’s going to be AWEXXOME and famous and the most greatest show since, well, last time.

Thursday, December 14th, honks!! Be there or be DOOOOOMED!!

Yes, the flier will involve bicycles on the moon.

  2. Great banner, Jax!

Oh yes, I’m writing this from Germany, where it’s after 11 and I am slowly digesting a meal of noodles, sausage, and beer. And then tomorrow? After I give a paper, we’re taking a train to Amsterdam.

    HA-ha.

My floor looks so golden and glowing. I believe this was taken mere weeks after I lovingly waxed and buffed it.

Also, “lovely and nefarious” are two great words together.

I found this place from CBR and I gotta say, any place that writes about comic books and Mississippi is great. I live in Mississippi! I love comic books!
