Happy Halloween…

faked by Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

...from Contessa, Lester, and your humble photographer, who is just now beginning to wonder if the fact that he was the only (human) member of the family left out of this costume theme is in any way significant.

Contessa 'n' Lester

We’re going to be strum-n-banging it out, full costume style (but sans Lester), at the Mountain Goats show tonight. Baton Rougeans, represent!

Wooo!! Classic Batgirl and . . . Ace the Bat-Hound! Hilarious. What was your costume??

  2. I was the Phantom of the Opry, which involved a phantom mask, a cowboy hat, and a pair of overalls. I thought it was fairly original, even though I stole from a friend back in Knoxville (Hi Curt!), but then yesterday morning it was in our newspaper under “cheap, easy Halloween ideas!” I’m still committing to it for tonight, though.

I swear if I were in the BR, I would be Mountain Goating. Next year, for sure.

Update us on the show, Prof.! Y’all, I called him last nite to say “have a good time!,” but all I got was a recording saying “if you’re calling me, and you’re a ‘friend,’ and you’re not here? Then I hope you suffer the boils.”*

    *Patently untrue.

  9. Oh, the update is coming, my friend, it’s coming indeed—I need a little time to properly capture its full sublimity. Which, if I could capture it, I guess wouldn’t be sublime. But you know what I’m saying. Maybe.

    I didn’t get a lot of sleep.

With no offense to the lovely Contessa and Lester, my favorite part of this photo is your wicked awesome lightswitch cover.

Angular!! I love those switchplates—which, if I may interject, are to the best of my understanding wholly custom and each unique.
