What We Do Is Secret (Two).

faked by Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

Welcome to the second What We Do Is Secret (or, as Sally calls it, WWDIS). I started this to distribute some of the stacks of little photos I had all around my house, some of which popped up on PrettyFakes before, most of which haven’t. Think of them as B-Sides.

The really fun thing was hearing from PrettyFakers all over the place and sending them through the mail. So even if you can’t come by the telephone pole at the corner of Saint Mary and Belmont at midnight, Wednesday, August 2, I’ll be happy to mail you one. Just drop me a note at prettyfakes@gmail.com.

This batch is comprised mainly of photos that weren’t in other posts; a corner of the Jitney 14 (now McDade’s Belhaven); one from Windsor Ruins; a busted (and now-replaced) window from the soon-to-be-open Light and Glass Studio; a wrecked boat on Johns Road in Bessemer, Alabama; a late-at-night-and-blurry Waffle House; and a gas station out in Rankin County. Most of these were rejected because of problems with light or composition, but I still like some of them quite a bit.

So: drop by or drop me a line.

These are all awesome! I’m glad you’re putting up all pretty ones this time. I sort of love the gas station that looks like my house.

  2. By far the coolest and most romantic the Waffle House has ever looked, right here.
