Katrina: One Year Later (Dr. Wagner in Clinton, Miss.).

This cartoon is only partly true; I got drunk last nite, and sad, and a lot of that sadness went into this cartoon. As Dr. Wagner said to me in a note,

It wasn’t an old donut. It was bought the day before. And it wasn’t sad. It was happy and fun…making the best for her on her birthday. There is a lot of sadness wrapped up in that event. But our little birthday celebration was one of the best things about that period. We were able to all sing happy birthday and let her blow out candles and she was happy. We were all smiling and it was a good thing. We even made birthday donuts a tradition for all the kids, and I’ll be bringing some donuts home tonight so my daughter can blow out some candles tomorrow.

If anybody can make having your power out fun, it’s that guy. I’m going to rework this cartoon tonite and we’ll see the other side of it.

No! We’ve had posting problems . . . I’ve got a backlog of cartoons that will go up Tuesdayish.
