go see the cartoon!

lazysunday.jpg

This is the laziest “cartoon” I’ve ever made, but it was a lot of fun. Images: a bunch of old bottlecaps I have in a “Mike Moore Attorney General” cup, the cover of Bridget Jones’ Diary, the first page of Wonder Boys, and a postcard of Bailey that I bought for a couple bucks off ebay. Go Lexmark All-in-One scanner-copier-whoobjidgit!

Confidential to Athenians: So did it freeze or not??

New cartoons on catoptric every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday—even if they’re not really cartoons!

As a general rule, whatever I think, Gorjus, you think the opposite of—and you’re always so vehement about it, even if you have no idea what you’re talking about. Which is often.

This is very cool, by the way.

didn’t that all start w/ tim robbins forgetting his agent and M. Streep pointing that out when she was onstate?

  3. gorjus says:

nah. she just has about ten agents . . . “and so and so, who never lets me forget my purse . . . ” Disgusting, really. It made her seem like so much cattle that needed to be herded around.

Contrary, you were coloring on the floor and making snide comments the whole time. That could’ve been her mama she was thanking for all you know.

And yeah, the overzealous agent thanking was due to Tim “I’m Drunk” Robbins’s omission.

I don’t have any iron in the Rene Z. fire at all, but I can offer some insight that is in her defense. My wife works at a certain major studio here in LA and had occasion to deal with RZ quite a bit during the making of the move she was working on at the time. First off, Diane (my wife) says that Rene is the nicest most down to earth “star” that she has ever worked with, running away. Secondly, Diane said that the guy Rene was with (the chunky frumpy guy who looking like Peter Jackson’s younger brother) was her assistant. Not some girl toy, trophy date or anything. Her longtime assistant. He is the one Rene praised at the very end of her speech, not her agent. So I thought that was a strong move to the hoop, taking him with her and singling him out. Not many other people have done that.

Also, Robbins wasn’t drunk. He made a funny crack about how, since he went first, he could go ahead and drink and not have to worry about getting lit up then be called to the stage. But he wasn’t drunk.
