a mass protest against an american head of state unlike anything we’ve seen before, but the only headlines i’m getting are about michael jackson.
the US news media is neither liberal nor conservative—they’re just fucking stupid.
Too bad the march organizers were Stalinists and Al-Qaeda sympathizers. Well, at least according to the National Review.
haw, i’ve heard that before.
now, when i read these threads, i imagine you as tom tomorrow dawings/comic strips.

Q And what about the protests, Mrs. Bush?
MRS. BUSH: Well, we actually have not seen that many protests. I don’t think the protests are near as large as everyone was predicting before we got there. We’ve seen plenty of American flags, we’ve seen plenty of people who were waving to us—many, many more people, in fact, than we’ve seen protestors, who were welcoming us here, and I appreciate that.

Insulated bitch.
The male Bush’s response to a similar question— something like “why do you think so many Britons are protesting your presence in this country?”—was “freedom is beautiful,” with some elaboration along the lines of “it’s beautiful they live in a country where they can do that.” When the reporter reiterated the question, Bush said something like “Well, I can tell you that the Iraqis could only recently do that.” I used to think it made a difference whether such tripe was handler-fed obfuscation (the old PR trick of answering the question YOU want to answer, not the one you actually get asked) or genuine, bred-in-the-bone stupidity. But, as KFB alludes, Bush is so insulated from real human existence that it just doesn’t matter how stupid he is or acts. Like all monarchs (and theocrats) before him, he is accountable to no one.
oh no. he’s just on message. he’s been on message since day one.
