the nixon shocks.

faked by Friday, September 19th, 2003

last nite me & jp! & la federala & adam went to bonsai for adam’s twenty-sixth. happy birthday, adam! he wanted to see underworld but it’s not out yet, and i told him that he’d be just as good off if he hung up a poster of blade II and put on an episode of alias and spun around with his arms out until he got dizzy and fell down.

he got mad at that. tonite my pals wes & kc & “sally” & me are gonna hit up the cherokee, and then i’m gonna rock it with king elementary (nee the symptoms) and champagne nights at the l33t sk33z3 p1t m@rt1nz. rad.

big gray has recorded the best song of his career. philistines, throw down yr pavement b-sides superfluousity!! losers, ditch that new yo la tengo boredom! pick up “the nixon shocks,” and revel in its distorted verses and brady bunch chorus. the man, if you didn’t know, has it going on. “i’ll come back and rehash last year” is pretty much the anthem of late 2000 for me.

that song is, indeed, a dandy.

link to his music site, where there isn’t a link (?) to the nixon song: http://www.biggray.com

aside: i thought all the bunny kitty songs were about diseases. what gives with “the pincher?” is that a disease?

  2. Big Gray says:

Thanks for the kind words! The Pincher song is separate, but it does mention bronchitis, for the record.

Gorjus failed to mention that King Elementary is made up of 16 year old kids—they were also rad. “Rad” is the only word I can think of. Such precious screaming children. One of their moms was there at the bar.

I might sound disdainful, but I mean this post to be celebratory.
