think that you lost millions because your analysts at merrill lynch led you astray with puffed-up research and hardcore sales talk? too bad, says judge milton pollack of new york, aged 98.

even some techstock pundits are saying the finger should be pointing squarely at the investors, but they’re wrong if they think it’s an “important decision.” it’s contrary to the spirit of the times, but not important.

governor dean’s blog is reporting exactly how much money he’s collected and how—and the best part of it is the average gift is $112, with the average online contribution a realistic $74.14.

that just makes me smile. all political candidates and their staff have this wonderful idea that if we can just get a hundred people to all give a hundred bucks a piece, their race for justice court or state house or supervisor will be in the bag. and you know what? they’re right.

. . . hate the game. But dammit, as much as I hate Wal-Mart—they just knocked one out for the home team. From the New York Times:

SEATTLE, July 1 Wal-Mart Stores, the nation’s largest private employer, has expanded its antidiscrimination policy to protect gay and lesbian employees, company officials said today.

A powerful and ethical decision, perhaps prompted by ambitious and intelligent prodding on behalf of the Pride Foundation, which bought Wal-Mart stock and then began to “encourage” them.
