all ms. comrade said was “this hurts my heart,” and it should hurt all ours, too. but why taylor county? just a few miles down the road is albany, georgia.

faked by gorjus Friday, May 2nd, 2003my good friend big gray and his wife mame recently took me to task for arguing to them that the south is not as permeated with racism or cultural divides as some argue—after i noted that i had lunch in a black-owned restaurant (the mighty stamps, where you can get a burger as big as your head, or even veggie dogs), that caters to a very mixed crowd.
they cried foul at my charges of cynicism and rebutted my story with charges of naivete. this is what i have to say to that!
